FAQ

WHY WOULD I COME TO THE PERFECT TEN AND NOT A LOCAL CHEAPER NAIL SHOP?

We are no chop shop. We take nail care seriously and take pride in sanitation and cleanliness. Our staff are all educated and continue to grow their knowledge with extra training courses.

HOW DO YOU SANITIZE YOUR TOOLS AND WORK AREAS?

Items such as nail files, toe separators, wax strips and spatulas are all one time use and then disposed of. Any steel instruments such as tweezers or cuticle nippers, are washed in antimicrobial soap and then soaked in Accel CS-20. Our pedicure tub jets come apart into 4 pieces which are also soaked in Accel CS-20. Tubs are washed with antimicrobial soap and sprayed down with Accel CS-20. Our manicure stations use a fresh towel for every client and the surface is sprayed down after each client as well.

WHAT IS A SHELLAC MANICURE?

Say HELLO to the future! It goes on like Polish. Wears like Gel. Off in minutes. Shellac is the breakthrough technology that combines the ease of polish with the performance of gels, a true innovation in extended nail care.

WHAT IS BIO GEL?

The only clinically researched, safety tested nail system on the market. Can be applied over natural nails, sclupted gel extensions or tips. Thin, strong and flexible application. Each application can be individualized for nail type, nail condition and life style. Correct application and removal will not result in damage to the natural nail bed.

WILL A UV LAMP OR TAN CAUSE/SPEED UP AGING?

No and No! Experts recently proved this myth wrong by conducting a study to measure the amount of UVA and UVB exposure you receive from an average UV manicure. Here are the facts: If you had one manicure every two weeks, the amount of UVB (burn) exposure is equivalent to spending an extra 4-6 minutes in the sun and the amount of UVA (age) exposure? An extra 2 minutes. You are more vulnerable to UV exposure during your lunch break outside or your car ride to work than you are during your shellac manicure.

HOW LONG DOES NAIL POLISH TAKE TO DRY?

Nail polish, when applied with the necessary base and top coat, can take up to 24 hours before it is 100% fully dry. This does not mean you cannot use your hands or feet during this time. Nail polish becomes superficially dry after 20 min; meaning, dry to the touch. However, keep in mind that it is merely the top two layers that have set. We recommend being cautious using your hands with sharp objects like car keys or pins. In the case of pedicures, we recommend that you ALWAYS wear open-toe shoes for the spring, summer and fall months. For a winter pedicure, we advise that you stay 1hr after your appointment to relax while your polish dries. Before you leave, we are happy to wrap your toes in light plastic to ensure that the polish does not smudge once you have put your winter boots back on.
